In 2005, we opened as a seasonal restaurant serving quintessential New England seafood. More than two decades later, we’re proud to have become a favorite waterfront destination for generations of guests. Now, we’re excited to share what’s next for The Boat House.
Starting in October, we will be undergoing a transformation that will bring enhancements including:
• A refreshed dining room and new interior bar
• A breathtaking new outdoor bar and expanded North Patio al fresco dining
• Expanded seating on our South Patio
We will be closing after dinner service on October 3rd and reopening late spring 2027.

When will the Boat House close for renovations?
The final day of service will be on October 3, 2026.
What is the anticipated reopening date?
We anticipate re-opening during the late spring season of 2027.
What changes are being made?
The Boat House will undergo interior and exterior renovations that include a refreshed dining room and new interior bar, a breathtaking new outdoor bar, and expanded North Patio with beautiful views of Mount Hope Bay. We will also expand the seating on our South Patio and include a new awning.

What should I do about my Newport Restaurant Group gift cards?
Newport Restaurant Group gift cards may be used at any of our properties in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Our locations closest to the Boat House are J.T. Commons in Middletown, and Waterman Grille in Providence. Visit our website at www.newportrestaurantgroup.com for a complete listing of our locations. And of course you can still use your gift cards at the Boat House once we reopen (gift cards do not expire).
Will my Fare Rewards account be affected?
The rewards and points on your Fare Rewards will not be affected. They can still be used at any Newport Restaurant Group location and they will still be valid once the Boat House reopens. If you have any questions, you can contact us at farerewards@newportrestaurantgroup.com.

Our Sales Team are available year-round to answer any questions you have about private dining and weddings at the Boat House. They can be reached at 401-314-9050. We will be ready to host your event once we reopen, and are currently booking events for 2027 and 2028.
